AQSIQ informed that BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. and BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. will recall some imported 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series and 6 Series from June 18 due to defects in engine fixing bolt design. 7 series, X1, X3, X5, X6, Z4 cars and domestic 3 series, 5 series cars, a total of 232,098 vehicles.
It is understood that the above vehicles are equipped with N52K, N52T, N55 engines, and some of the vehicles within this recall range are due to the design of the fixing bolts on the engine variable valve timing mechanism casing. During the operation of the engine, the fixing bolts may loosen. Detachment or even breakage causes the sealing of the variable valve timing mechanism of the engine to be affected and abnormal or failure occurs. Under certain circumstances, the engine may not be able to start or cause mechanical damage, posing a safety hazard.
