Recently, the shipyard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Group of South Korea has begun testing an exoskeleton power pack at the construction site to help workers carry heavy loads. In the sci-fi movie Iron Man, you can see the protagonist wearing some exoskeleton armor, which is now expected to appear in real life.
At the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Group's shipyards in Korea, it is often necessary to carry a lot of heavy metal materials. Although long-distance transportation can be assisted by machinery, when it is shipped to a destination, it must be manually carried by the factory. Now, Daewoo Shipbuilding has developed a new tool, the exoskeleton power pack. Although their exoskeleton power suit does not look as technical as the Iron Man in the movie, it is very practical in design.
Last year, this exoskeleton power pack has been tested internally. Now the shipyard hopes that the workers and the technology can work. The prototype test of this exoskeleton power pack can lift objects weighing about 30 kilograms, but the goal of the shipyard is hope. It can reach about 100 kg, which is enough to meet the actual work of the usual shipyard.
This exoskeleton power pack weighs 60 pounds, but the power pack itself relies on mechanical bone support, so workers don't feel too much weight when wearing it. When the worker is using it, just lock the foot on the pedal of the power pack. On the board, then attach the fixed tie to your chest.
The entire power pack is suitable for workers between 1.6m and 1.8m in height, and the power system can provide three hours of activity. However, the biggest problem with exoskeleton power suits is that when the workers wear the exoskeleton power suit, the upper body cannot be reversed. Therefore, when working on many occasions, it is not as dexterous as it is when you actually work. But it can help to carry things, I believe the workers will be happy to wear it!
